Our successful Virtual Literary Speed Dating series gives writers a unique three-minute opportunity to pitch their completed manuscript to Australian publishers and agents.


You will be allocated a 3-minute appointment, one-on-one, to pitch your completed work to your chosen publisher or agent. The pitches will take place via Zoom videoconferencing. You will be sent an individual appointment time and a link to the Zoom meeting. At the time of your appointment, you will be admitted to the meeting 'room' and will have three minutes of pitching time with the publisher or agent.


Screensharing will not be permitted during the three minutes - the appointments are intended to be elevator pitches, not presentations. This advice will be sent by the ASA within a week of the event.


Once material is submitted to the publisher or agent we request they advise you of their intention to publish within three months of the pitch date. Please do not request publisher feedback or contact details during your three minutes. Publishers and agents will only seek certain material at the event.


Do not book into a pitching slot if the representative is not seeking the kind of material you intend to pitch, e. do not pitch a picture book to an agent seeking non-fiction. Research the attending publishers and agents carefully to ensure you understand what kind of manuscripts the attending representatives are seeking and to ensure you are pitch session speed dating style pitching your work to them.


Your pitch must be for a completed manuscript, not an idea, that has not been pitched at two or more Literary Speed Dating events previously. If your manuscript is not complete or you are not comfortable in providing it at present, please continue working on your project and attend a Literary Speed Dating event at a later date when your work is completed.

From 6am to 6pm daily, Knowledge Kids is the destination in BC for an outstanding line-up of high-quality, commercial-free programming for children aged Across the kids’ schedule, Knowledge Network's programming aims to support the cognitive, social and emotional development of young learners by covering a range of subject areas, including language and literacy, maths, science, movement, music and the arts, personal development empathy, tolerance, coping skills, self-expression , problem solving, critical thinking and healthy lifestyles.


Knowledge Network has a mixture of programming including different forms of animation, stop motion, live action and mixed media.

After three years at Malofilm Tim moved to Astral where he was National Sales Manager. In the 6 years spent at Astral later known as, Motion he was responsible for evaluating thousands of scripts and feature films.


By travelling the world looking for films and releasing them into the Canadian market place Tim developed a keen sense of what films worked in the marketplace and what films did not. After 6 years at Motion, Tim moved West to Vancouver to explore new opportunities in the world of West coast production. Tim spent a year working with an independent production company, Highwire, learning the ropes of production and financing of feature films. Tim went on to become head of worldwide sales and distribution for Keystone Entertainment.


Tim was in charge of marketing and releasing all internal productions to the global marketplace. He learned what films not only worked in the Canadian marketplace but the international and US marketplace as well. He had the opportunity to garner important relationships with all the major studios and mini-majors.


After his time at Keystone, Tim decided to fulfill his lifelong dream to direct his first feature film. He directed The Cradle starring Lukas Haas.


Once Tim had the chance to write and direct his own feature film it gave him the ability to fully appreciate the process of writing, producing and directing. He went on to become President of Insight Film Studios and in just over two years was involved in the financing, creation, packaging, marketing and sales of over 40 films including Personal Effects Ashton Kutchar and Michelle Pfeiffer , Numb Mathew Perry , and While She Was Out Kim Bassinger.


In his first 24 months since founding Joker Films Tim has Executive Produced over 11 films. In addition, Tim is currently producing 2 feature films.
